My wonderful sister pointed out something she had read in
Power of a Positive Mom, and it brought me to this place... a new name for our school. We have been known as Thompson Academy but I wanted something meaningful, thought provoking and very expressive of what we want to
accomplish in our schooling. In the book, the author talked about the fact that the Bible tells us what we are supposed to teach in our school... Jesus grew in
wisdom (reading, writing and arithmetic)
stature (PE, health and fitness)
in favor with God (growing in their personal relationship with God)
and men (socialization - the good kind!)
I thought that was wonderful, and it is true...that is what I need to teach my kids! So from now till graduation we are to be known as Wisdom and Stature Academy!
